I am Kara Benson

I tried telling myself that I was going to start a Blog when my life felt perfect or when I felt I was in a good place to begin the adventure. I contemplated starting this multiple times before now, and I was waiting for a magical moment to arrive; a moment when I felt like I had my life organized. I was waiting to be able to sit down in a peaceful home with quiet music playing in the background and little interruptions. Well I didn’t feel a magical moment… My house is never quiet…and as far as my life being organized…well, it’s as organized as it is ever going to be at this current stage- and I’m okay with that. I know God has called me to encourage others. I know He has called me to share truth. I’m hoping to use this blog as a catalyst to do that. My favorite way to share would probably be some type of in person get together or biblestudy or conversation with a cup of coffee. But I’m going to do it this way for now, I’m going to write and share and pray. I am praying that God is going to bless the outcome and guide these conversations. I want this to be like a conversation you would have with a friend. I actually hope I get to meet people that I’ve never met before, build friendships, build community. I hope I get to encourage people that I know already and those I have never met. A little about me: My name is Kara. I’m a mom of five children.oldest son is 9 I have 7 year old boy/girl twins, a three year old daughter and my youngest son is 7 months.I’m married to a wonderful man named Bob. We have been married for almost nine years. My life is hectic to say the least! Most days I have a sinkful of dishes waiting to be washed, I have two or three loads of laundry waiting to be folded and put away, I have 15lb of baby weight that I’d still like to lose. I love coffee and I considered naming this blog Coffee and Jesus but it was taken!! (Congrats to the person who owns that domain ?) My goal for this blog is to encourage others. You don’t have to be a mom or a certain age because we all go through the same emotions just different circumstances. I want to encourage you and tell you that you’re not alone and I think by encouraging you with God’s promises I’m also going to encourage myself in the process. Honestly, everyday I need encouragement, and it’s God’s encouragement I need. He is my calm in the chaos. I hope that you’ll join me on this ride. I’m not exactly sure everything we are going to talk about and I’m hoping that in some ways it’s going to be like led by you too. But, I do know everything we talk about will be scripture based.
