Firstly, we make sure we know Jesus’s voice so well that we do not doubt who is speaking. I want you to think of the baby who was born deaf and received a cochlear implant. There is such excitement on the baby’s face and tears of joy stream down the face of the mother as her baby recognizes the sound of her mom for the very first time. Can we recognize the voice of God in this way?
Also, when we are so low and so discouraged when we feel we have no hope and nothing left to give, can we be like this baby hearing their mother’s voice for the first time?
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 10:27-28
How do recognize the voice of Jesus?
Next, God’s voice says Be strong and be courageous, God’s voice says I will never leave or forsake you. God’s voice says He loves you with an everlasting love. God’s voice says He will lead you on the path of righteousness.
Which means any path leading to unrighteousness is the WRONG WAY, any path leading to continual fear is the WRONG WAY, and any path leading you to put your trust in anyone over God is the WRONG WAY. Any path providing a different shepherd, not of God is the WRONG WAY. If you don’t recognize the voice, if the voice is contrary to scripture, if the voice is contrary to Biblical truth, we should RUN away from it.
Please listen for Jesus voice today and flee from deception and if it is your first time hearing his voice and Jesus call for you to put your faith and hope in Him for your salvation please know that there is great overwhelming joy when he sees his child profess belief in Him as Savior and King.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
Romans 10:9-11
Generally, the voice of our Savior brings eternal joy and peace amidst the chaos and noise of this life. May you hear him today and rest in Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
